some things you should be made aware of...

Lots of things going on this summer, so I'm super excited.
This Thursday July 24th, I'll be djing "Chess Moves,' hosted by Floss Angeles' own El Prez (http://www.myspace.com/elprezidente).

After my show you need to be at Club Lubitsch for the after party. My boy Morb One's birthday, Thee Mike B will be smashing and Turbo Vision (http://www.myspace.com/turbo_vision) will be in the house.

On July 31st, I'm djing in Fullerton for "West Coast Champs," it's a big 16 man producer beat battle and the winner getting mad props and $150 bucks, hosted by the hommie Sahtyre (http://www.myspace.com/sahtyre). Pick up the alubm "High Saht," and check for him on Grintime (www.grintimenow.com).

LFTB's own Elephant Gerald (www.myspace.com/elephantsounds) will be the battle, so get ready to hear some heat. I got to hear some of the beats he's working on for Cleen's next project called "A View From The Balcony," and they're bringing it. Speaking of Cleen he'll be performing some songs from that project with Elephant Gerald live on the beat machine and me on the scratch's.

July 31st is also my brothers birthday. My brother Pete is coming in from New Mexico, he's been living there for a few months, saving money to go back to school. He's been working on the set of "Crash," the T.V. series seen on the Starz network.

Crash stars one of the greastest American actors of our time Dennis Hopper, check out this classic dialog.

The next day we plan on having dinner at Cliffs Edge (www.cliffsedgecafe.com) in Silver Lake. If you haven't been there I suggest you check out that spot out, Yelp it if you don't believe me (http://www.yelp.com/biz/cliffs-edge-los-angeles). It's nice and cozy, you can have dinner inside or outside in the patio.

Then after dinner we'll be doing it up big in Hollywood to celebrate his birthday at "The Get Up," (http://www.myspace.com/club_the_getup) located at The Hollywood Canteen. I'll be spinning in the outside patio playing the jams and making it funky. I'll post the flyer later today.

Area 1/Heated Covered Patio; New Hip Hop, Classic Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, 80's R&B, neo-soul, 90's hip hop & r&b, reggae, afro funke, afro beat, world, classic house, etc.
Free from 8-10pm with RSVP, 5$ all night after hit me up to get on the guestlist (scratch1master@gmail.com) or it'll be 10$ at the door w/ no RSVP. 4$ wells and 4$ beers from 8-10pm.

On a side note, Branded (http://www.brandedbunny.com/) and Project Rabbit (http://www.tworabbitsstudios.com/) printed us some posters that I'll try to remember to have them with me at the shows, maybe even some Rheteric posters.

I'll also have some from the LA Four Show at Space 15 Twenty last month (I'll post the pic later).

Here's a Unique LA interview they recently did, go buy all their posters at the Gig Posters website (http://www.gigposters.com).

Side note number 2, Rheteric has a new EP called "Crip Walking On A Burning Bridge," it has some of the new music he's been working on and a couple live songs from his Denver show.

I'm on a couple tracks, so go pick it up at one of his shows. Rhet's been posting his entire catalog on youtube as digi vids (http://www.youtube.com/user/TheRAMIREZ138#), there you can hear all the scratch's I did on LAFM.

In other news I'm working on some beats for Morb (www.myspace.com/morb) and June (www.myspace.com/juneuno), they're both working on new albums. Morb's been on a tear as usually, making things happen in the party scene doing it big with So Sweet Records. June is planning on moving to Canada in the near future, but not until he's finished his first and hopefully not last solo album. He's getting bangers from LA's finest producers and he's even getting back to making beats, check out his stuff on the J.U.I.C.E. (http://www.rampartjuice.com/) J.U.I.C.E. presents…
The Danger Room Files, Vol 1 compilation on iTunes, Kail's (http://www.myspace.com/thatsthatsexyshit) newest project and the Swim Teams (http://www.swimteamla.blogspot.com/) last mixtape, "Oceans 11."

I'm also working on a new mixtape for the Chess Moves series and Cleen will be hosting it. The dope thing about this series is that it will have two versions of the mixtape, mixed by different dj's. The other dj for this volume is Dj Blenda (www.myspace.com/blendamixtapes) from the crew Those Chosen (www.myspace.com/thosechosen).

Check out the Fresh Kut Ave (www.freshkutave.net) and Life For The Better (www.lftb.net) websites for all the new projects and events going down. FKA is working on a tons of collabs and is helping Holy Grail (http://store.holygrailgoods.com) get back on it's feet.

LFTB anniversary in Hollywood during the month of September, I'll let everyone know once we've got the venue locked. Check for Ofcelfe (www.myspace.com/ofcelfe) at the anniversary, he's going to have tons of new music cause he's been working on beats like crazy out in Colorado.

More post coming soon and I've got some new DVDs so I'll have some DVD reviews.

Peace Out, See Ya Later
